Job description:
*report to the Assistant General Counsel, and demonstrate leadership and expert-level knowledge of all aspects related to *contract administration in government contracting for U.S. and *international government opportunities, *manage government contract team personnel, and *work closely with senior leadership of various functional groups.

The Director is the primary corporate representative for government contracting across the Corporation and will act as the focal point for providing guidance on all government contracting – US, international government agencies, and foreign militaries. The position requires expertise in a variety of functional contracts subspecialties, and significant contracting policy experience. It also requires frequent independent contact with external senior contracting and acquisition personnel.

Position Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee contracts and subcontracts throughout the lifecycle from proposal efforts to contract award, compliance, administration of deliverables and closeout
• Conduct proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract and subcontract administration, including contract kick-offs and closeouts
• Negotiate key commercial terms such as warranty, indemnity, and limitation of liability clauses with Prime Contractor and OEMs
• Ensure compliance with USG policies and procedures
• Act as key liaison in USG government audits associated with contractor Business Systems
• Work cooperatively with a multitude of functions ranging from technical, program, finance, execution team and pricing for seamless contract administration
• Analyze, interpret and resolve complex contractual issues
• Lead and manage Government Contracts team personnel
• Actively provide guidance to Government Contracts Team members
• Track and manage contract and task order periods of performance
• Manage contract and subcontract modifications
• Provide guidance in developing and implementing company policies and procedures
• Coordinate activity with Finance Team and senior management
• Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with federal contacts and other contractors
• Provide policy guidance in collaboration with the Legal Counsel to the various business sectors
• Lead or assist training related to government contracting compliance issues such as government systems, government property, data rights, changes to regulations, and other matters
• Coordinate all essential activity with Legal Counsel

Position Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 10 years of experience in government contract management or administration
• Strong working knowledge of FAR and DFARS
• Long term contracts with USG, international governments, and Commercial Primes, NDA, and Teaming Agreement negotiation expertise
• Previous leadership experience
• In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract documents, and legal specifications
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
• Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work independently
• Commercial experience and Aerospace industry background strongly preferred
