Position Summary:
This position is responsible for all facility and third party payer contracts including all aspects of contract assignments, payer enrollments, revalidation, credentialing, re-credentialing and privileging processes for all third party payers and Practitioners. Responsible for ensuring facilities & providers are credentialed, appointed, and privileged with health plans, hospitals and patient care facilities. Responsible for final review of other contracts. Provide in-house general counsel.
Essential Job Duties:
Ensure ongoing compliance, internal control practices, risk reduction, high ethical standards and corporate governance
Ensure compliance with Medicare facility accreditation requirements
Develop, implement and manage a strategic plan for the provision of legal services in accordance with and in support of business objectives; budgeting for, selecting and managing outside counsel
Review credentialing and contracting applications for full completeness and accuracy.
Manage outsourced contracting and credentialing resources
Provide guidance on business and legal risks, company policies and mitigation strategies.
Counsel the executive team on a range of compliance, risk management and corporate governance matters.
Provide practical legal advice and support across all business functions, including finance, sales, business development, product management and marketing.
Oversee high dollar appeals, lien filings, bankruptcy and estate accounts

Skills/Qualifications/Work Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree, minimum 2 years experience in medical related field with contracting experience preferred.
Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to troubleshoot and escalate issues as necessary.
Ability to research and analyze data.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good judgment, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively as well as possessing the skills to lead, influence, and motivate others.
Ability to interact with others and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn other computer programs easily.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Must be able to actively engage within the team and be a team player and communicate with people at all levels, including effectively communicate with provider relations representatives at third party payers.
