What part will you play?
Warner Bros. Pictures is seeking an Associate General Counsel for the Legal department. The position drafts, negotiates, reviews, revises and analyzes contracts related to motion picture acquisition, development, production and distribution; analyzes clearance, advertising and promotional issues; prepares guild and insurance applications, permits and legal certificates; researches and responds to legal inquiries; advises production and management on legal risks; interfaces with executives and lawyers throughout the company; supervises clerical subordinates in the performance of their tasks. Specifically, the responsibilities include:
Drafting, negotiating, reviewing, revising and analyzing contracts relating to development, production, acquisition and distribution of theatrical motion pictures.
Preparing applications, permits, affidavits or certificates required by law or regulation and necessary for production and/or distribution of theatrical motion pictures.
Researching and answering inquiries regarding contract rights and obligations, privacy rights, copyright laws, legal clearances and other legal matters.
Advising other Warner Bros. personnel and production personnel on matters relating to theatrical motion picture acquisition, development, production and distribution contracts as well as coordinating with and performing the legal work requirements of various Warner Bros. departments, including visual effects and the acquisition of distribution rights and employment of writers, actors, producers, directors, etc.
Serving as a liaison to Corporate Legal in the handling of some claims and litigation.
Supervising clerical subordinate in performance of legal-related tasks.
Performs other related duties as assigned by SVP & GC and/or production personnel.

What do we require from you?
BA/BS degree in related field and JD degree from accredited law school.
Minimum 8-10 years experience practicing law, with at least 4 years in the TV and/or motion picture business.
Major studio and/or major law firm experience.
Experience with some distribution/finance transactions preferred.
Must have knowledge of law and legal environment of entertainment industry sufficient to analyze, draft and negotiate legal documents in a well-organized, precise and concise manner and counsel management on legal implications of their actions.
Must be able to research legal questions and communicate responses effectively to all levels of corporate and production staff.
Must be able to supervise paralegal and clerical subordinates engaged in performance of legal-related tasks.
California Bar membership required.
Must be able to work flexible or long hours if and when necessary.
